Other 'fuck you' attitudes are present throughout the album, which help with drying out listener interest quickly. Angry teenagers may get a robust rise out of this, but older metal fans might consider it juvenile. It tries to make the album heavier, but doesn't really come off that way. The single "Under It, Over It" is a bit close to sounding far too much like "American Capitalist," and the lyrics tend to fall back to that same 'I hate you, fuck off, who cares what you think' attitude that was too popular on Five Finger Death Punch's first album. "The other interestingly politically charged track, "The Pride", pretty much leaves a ranting list of everything that is "American" and pokes a bit of fun at the big businesses like Disneyland and Apple with biting sarcasm, but it doesn't exactly motivate listeners rather than make them shrug. Ivan Moody's vocals are still well performed, but as the album progresses on, a lot of the song structures from 'War is the Answer' take more preference to new things presented throughout 'American Capitalist'. The opening track "American Capitalist" may sound familiar as it features fast, charging riffs that sound like they came from "Dying Breed" from the previous album, and with the mix of harsh, bellowing choruses and melodic and clean choruses, it may become apparent faster than expected on how little Five Finger Death Punch changed their game up this time around.

Well, truth be told, there is only really two tracks on here that seem to make much of a political stance, which is very similar to how 'War is the Answer' stood. based band considering the 'Occupy Wall Street' movements going on during October and November through the States so fans probably felt that this was the ultimate anthem of an album to blast at rallies and spread their message. 'American Capitalist' seemed like it came at a perfect time from this U.S.

So, true to the usual 'two year syndrome', a new album has come forth from Five Finger Death Punch, but it just doesn't seem to hit as hard. It certainly seemed like vocalist Ivan Moody and guitarist Zoltan Bathory and crew had it made! Of course, with everyone loving them the band had the huge responsibility now of numerous shows on top of getting another album prepared quickly. The music sounded better and more complex (still in the Modern Metal vein) but it included everything that just makes an album of that type good - a mix of clean/harsh vocal patterns, interesting lyrics that touched on all wakes of life, from political to personal, and a pretty awesome cover mascot to go along with it.

It was like the band had gone into music rehab and come out crystal clean sober. Two years later, 'War is the Answer' was released and everything changed. some just felt it was the next step in evolution from Nu-metal to Modern Metal. Remember back when out of nowhere a band called Five Finger Death Punch released an album called 'Way of the Fist' and people just shrugged? Save for maybe one or two tracks, the rest felt like a whining mess of an album dedicated to simple riffs and lyrics that were angst explosive Nu-metal galore about hating everyone. The 'Five' are not as hard hitting this round
